The Story
Candy is a young woman trafficked into a life on the streets. Controlled by her pimp, Justin, numbed by drugs, and invisible to the world - she exists in a cycle of exploitation and survival.
But something begins to stir within her. After experiencing a cryptic dream and stumbling upon a Queen of Wands tarot card, lying in a parking lot, Candy begins to experience psychic visions, flashes of other people's lives, truths they've buried, futures yet unwritten.
Guided by a psychic medium, Camilia, who recognizes her gift and protected by the fiercely loyal tattoo artist next door, Trina, Candy begins to transform.
Encouraged to develop her gift, she plots her path toward freedom. But when her menacing and abusive pimp discovers her intentions, he asserts control to derail her plans. Desperate, with no seeming way out, she turns to a cryptic message written in the cards, that leads to a conclusion, that even a psychic could not see coming.

The World
The Gift
In a rare moment of sobriety, Candy's first psychic vision ignites a chain of events, revealing powers beyond the psychic realm and forever changing the course of her life.

The stale beer and cigarette smoke of the seedy bars, the stained carpets and flickering neon of the dingy motels, the shadows and whispers of the dark alleys - A world controlled by predators like Justin, where survival seem to be more of a reflex than a choice.
The Supernatural
The lights explode from the untamed current of the dead, psychic flashes overwhelm her senses, and voices from beyond the veil demand attention. These experiences are visceral, unsettling, and ultimately transformative.

The Characters
Candy
Beneath Candy's hardened exterior and wounded past lies a woman who survived trafficking, loss, and betrayal. Her newly discovered psychic gifts are a mirror, showing her that true power comes from the courage to choose her own path.
Camilia
Camilia, an unassuming psychic medium, runs a boutique where she immediately recognizes Candy as the prodigy from her dreams. Warm, wise, and direct, she becomes Candy's guide to freedom and self-discovery.
Trina
Trina, a lesbian tattoo artist with a secret past, sees her younger self in Candy. Seven years older and stable, she becomes Candy's fierce protector, subtly encouraging her freedom while hoping to win her heart.
Kota
A mid-50s ex-con, Kota emerges from 20 years in prison to find his estranged daughter, Candy, trapped on the streets. He embarks on a quest for redemption, determined to earn her trust and liberate her from Justin's grip.
Justin
Lean, twitchy, and dangerous, Justin is the pimp who rules Candy's world through fear, paranoia, and violence. He is the darkness that keeps Candy chained to the streets — the force she must find the strength to break free from.
Cal
A steady family therapist and Kota's confidant, Cal believes deeply in second chances. Honest and compassionate, he becomes the quiet moral compass urging a broken man to find the courage to make things right.
Core Theme
We all live in choice. This is a universal theme that our young protagonist learns as she mirrors the hero's journey. We may not always get to choose our circumstances, but we always get to choose how we respond to them.
